TESSERACT 1stANNIVERSARY CELEBRATIONS
The first anniversary celebrations of TESSERACT was conducted on 08/09/2016. The event was inaugurated by the Chief Guest, Sri. V.K Joseph, Chief Engineer, KSEB. The students of S7 EEE are working on an IOT based LED project and a prototype of the same was demonstrated by them on the same event. The LED Scrolling display will be dedicated by the students of EEE Dept. to the institution, on completion.The REPORT of EEE Dept. was presented by Al Noufal Shah of S5 EEE. The new members of EEE dept., S1 EEE students were introduced at the event.
The first edition of the Hand Written Magazine (Kaiyezhuthu Masika) – “Spandanam – The Real Beats”, on behalf of Literary club was released by our HOD, Ms. Anuroopa.A and handed over to the Principal.
The Official Website of Dept. of EEE was also launched at the event by our Principal.
The academic toppers of each semester- Harikrishnan (S5), Gopika (S12, KU) and Swathi (S2, KTU) were awarded prizes. Azadulla Riza of S7 EEE receiv
ed the “Best Innovator Award” for his projects on Tesla Coil and LED display.
A video of Electrical Engineering was also presented to the audience by the S7 students.
An interactive session with the Chief Guest was also organized after the inaugural session, during which the students interacted with the Chief Guest and cleared their doubts. An AUTOCAD training workshop is also organized on 9/9/2016 from 8.30 am onwards.
Electrical Association (TESSERACT)
Inauguration of departmental association “TESSERACT” was on September 2015. Prof. S. Sheela, P.G Dean, Govt. College of Engineering, Bartonhill, inaugurated the association on 09/09/2015.
Mr.Azadulla Riza from S5 EEE demonstrated his work on Tesla Coil by using the principle of electro-magnetic induction to light a fluorescent tube on the event of Electrical Association which received huge appreciation from the Chief Guest of the function. She shared her opinion about the college and also appreciated the work and effort put by the students towards the success of the inauguration.
Industrial Visits Conducted 2015, MILMA, Ambalathara. 07/Aug/2015
Students of EEE 3rd and 5th semester visited the MILMA, Ambalathara as part of their curricular industrial visit. The process control aspects of milk processing and treatment and packaging were clearly described to students.
Invited Talk on “Evolution of DC Machines”
The first event under the association wasa technical talk on“Evolution of DC Machines” by Prof.S. Sheela, Govt College of Engineering, Barton Hill. Basics of DC machines and various Special Machines were discussed by the Chief Guest and students enjoyed a well interactive session with this eminent personality.
MATLAB TRAINING
MATLAB was installed on 30 dedicated Computers in the Software Lab and students are encouraged to use it along with their course work. Five additional tool boxes are integrated in MATLAB R2015a version. Under the electrical association, a MATLAB workshop was conducted and hands on training was given to students on Simulink as well as programming.
