The IEDC (Innovation & Entrepreneurship Development Cell) came into existence in ACE College of Engineering in 2015 with the aim to emerge as a Center of Excellence in the field of Entrepreneurship Promotion and to act as a catalyst in transforming employable to entrepreneurial communities by translating latent ideas into viable enterprises.
The main objectives of IEDC:
- Develop the spirit of entrepreneurship among the students.
- Nurture the ideas of the students.
- To help entrepreneurs to acquire necessary skills.
- Build a strong platform for the budding Entrepreneurs.
INNOVATION & ENTREPRENEURSHIP DEVELOPMENT CELL
The Kerala Startup Mission (KSUM), the nodal agency for entrepreneurship development in the state, has established a robust network of Innovation and Entrepreneurship Development Centres (IEDCs) across 193 colleges and polytechnics in Kerala. These IEDCs function as critical incubators, fostering a culture of innovation and entrepreneurship among students. By providing resources, mentorship, and guidance, IEDC programs empower students to transform their nascent ideas into commercially viable products and services. A prime illustration of this initiative is the IEDC at ACE College of Engineering, which exemplifies the program’s success in nurturing a dynamic environment for student experimentation, collaboration, and entrepreneurial development.
Fostering Innovation and Entrepreneurship:
The Innovation & Entrepreneurship Development Cell (IEDC) at ACE serves as a launchpad for aspiring student entrepreneurs. IEDC fosters creativity and innovation by helping students turn their ideas into viable products and services.
Launching Your Entrepreneurial Journey:
Through IEDC, students gain access to cutting-edge technology, world-class infrastructure, high-quality mentorship, early-stage funding, and global exposure. This comprehensive support system equips them with the tools they need to succeed.
Building Tomorrow’s Businesses:
In collaboration with Kerala Startup Mission (KSUM) and other organizations like ICT Academy of Kerala (ICTAK), IEDC offers a variety of programs to cultivate the student body’s entrepreneurial spirit. These programs include workshops and competitions focused on business planning, product design, emerging technologies, and presentation skills. IEDC also organizes hackathons and ideathons to identify and nurture promising student startups.
A Collaborative Ecosystem for Success:
Students gain valuable industry knowledge and insights from experts. KSUM provides ongoing monitoring, mentorship, and support, fostering the development of socially responsible, innovative, and sustainable startups. Through networking events and knowledge sharing, students can learn from each other’s successes and failures, building a strong network that may lead to long-term business ventures.
This restructured version emphasizes the key functions of IEDC and the benefits it offers to students. It also uses a more concise and active voice for better readability.
