In an effort to bridge the gap between academia and industry, the Department of Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) and the Department of Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning (AIML) jointly organized an expert talk under the flagship of Esperanza Series II – Voice & Vision on 18th July 2025. Held in the college auditorium, the session brought together second- and third-year students, faculty members, and administrative staff to delve into the dynamic realm of intelligent systems and emerging technologies.

The expert session, led by Mr. Mohammed Afzal — a veteran in the field of software engineering and educational technology — was aimed at empowering students with valuable insights into the Model Context Protocol (MCP) and its applications in real-world intelligent systems. The session was designed to provide deeper insights into emerging technologies, specifically focusing on intelligent systems and their practical use cases.

Mr. Mohammed Afzal, an experienced software engineer and renowned technology trainer, led the session with enthusiasm and clarity. With over two decades of experience in software development and educational technology, he currently serves as the Chief Technology Officer of Cordova Educational Solutions and Techno Alliance. He is also a Google Certified Trainer and Innovator, Microsoft Educator Trainer, and a School Innovation Ambassador under the Ministry of Education, Government of India.

The central focus of his talk was on the Model Context Protocol (MCP) — a framework used in developing intelligent systems that are responsive to environmental and user contexts. Mr. Afzal began by introducing the concept of context-aware computing, elaborating on how modern devices and systems must adapt in real time to the user’s environment and behavior.

He further explained how MCP acts as a foundation for intelligent applications in domains like the Internet of Things (IoT), human-computer interaction, and adaptive learning systems. The session was delivered in a highly relatable manner, with real-life examples and analogies that made complex ideas easy to grasp.

Mr. Afzal’s engaging and informative presentation not only deepened students’ understanding of context-aware computing and MCP but also inspired them to think critically about the future of intelligent systems and the ethical aspects of technological development. The interactive nature of the session — particularly the vibrant Q&A — highlighted the students’ enthusiasm and curiosity, showcasing the topic’s relevance in today’s technology-driven world.
